1959-1969

On January 3, 1959, with Elder W. T. Skilton,
the dedication and mortgage burning service was held. Elder W. J. Jackott addressed the church. Honored at that service were two charter members, Mrs. George Blood whose husband had been the first Elder of the original group, and Mrs. Killon, formerly Austin, who had worked with the Bible Instructor in the early days of the church.
Around 1967 the church
sold the original Pipe Organ, built by William M. Goodrich ca. 1820 and a Baldwin was purchased instead. The OHS Organ Database places the organ at Saint Steven’s R.C. Church in Boston.
As time went on, the church continued its usual activities and increased in membership. The church needed more Sabbath School rooms and a Fellowship Room. After much prayer and discussion it was decided to sell the church and build a new one.
On November 17, 1969 the property and building on Maynard and Church Street was sold by the Southern New England Conference Association of Seventh-day Adventist to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, through the Board of Trustees of State Colleges, for the amount of $111,000.00 The church used the proceeds to build a beautiful new building on Edgell Road in Framingham.
The architect for this house of worship was Mr. Joseph P. Staniunas of Hudson. The builder was Mr. Jerry Little of South Lancaster.
